We Remove Wisdom Teeth at These Ages
posted: Dec 29, 2017.
What sounds like fun to you? A birthday party? A day at a theme park? Eating out with a friend? How about having teeth pulled? Wisdom teeth removal isn’t exactly most people’s idea of an exciting time, even less so when they’re in advanced years. When people get older, their wisdom teeth roots grow deeper and become more difficult to extract.
For this reason, we endorse that patients who need to have their wisdom teeth removed do so between the ages of 15 and 25. While it’s correct that some people never have wisdom teeth removed and live healthy lives, impacted wisdom teeth can do major destruction if they’re not extracted. For instance, abscesses, cysts, tumors, and infections may form near the area of the wisdom teeth, and if the teeth try to emerge, they can cause misalignment and harm to the other molars. If you’re wondering about having your wisdom teeth removed, and even if you’re older than 25, please let us know and we’d be excited to work with you.
